Gracious Junior School in Entebbe

200 PUPILS · A PERMANENT HOME; OUR NEXT AMBITION

Gracious Junior School in Uganda provides an education for 200 children despite having to relocate several times. The school lost its first home near Entebbe Airport following the owner’s death, then had to leave its second site when the land was sold to developers.

Today, the school operates on a church site, with lessons held in simple wooden classrooms that offer little protection from the weather. Nevertheless, we congratulate the staff and pupils of Gracious Primary School for achieving such excellent results in P6 National Examinations in 2018! Of the 14 students who took the exam last year all 14 passed – two with the top grade and the rest with a grade 2.

Our ambition is to help secure land and build permanent, weatherproof classrooms. Rising land prices make this a significant challenge, but owning a site would give the school much-needed stability and room to develop.

Your support can help us work towards a permanent home for Gracious School, giving children a safer, more comfortable place to learn.
