Our vision is for every child to have access to a quality primary education, with a safe place to learn and the support they need to build a brighter future.
We put this commitment into practice by building schools in Uganda and providing sponsorship to support children throughout their education, particularly those who have lost parents to AIDS.
We believe lasting change begins with local leadership. By helping appoint headteachers and establish strong school governance, we create schools that are locally led and financially sustainable, with school fees supporting their ongoing running costs.
Our commitment goes beyond classrooms. From books and uniforms to sports equipment and essential facilities, we help schools access the resources children need to learn, grow and thrive.
Through partnerships with UK schools, charities, businesses and young volunteers, we bring people together to support these ambitions. Our school in Mpigi reflects this vision: combining classrooms, sanitation and planned dental facilities with local leadership to give children a stronger foundation for the future.
Our ethos is to build primary schools and also we take donations on behalf of specific children who are sponsored through their school lives, typically AIDS orphans. We assist in procuring head teachers who then take over the running of the schools and levy school fees to sustain the running of the schools. 80% of the schools in Uganda are private. We don’t typically get involved in the micro detail of the day-day running of the schools. We have an in-house country manager, Dan who chiefly oversees the construction and facilitates donations into the schools for specific things like books, uniforms and sporting kit within the schools. We have teenagers going out to Uganda to our schools who help educate the Ugandan children and we have three going out next month.
We have schools here in London that have sponsored Ugandan schools.
Namakoko school was sponsored by Radnor house school. St Mary’s school, Twickenham has sponsored Joy Nursery and school with specific projects.
NEW SCHOOL MPIGI:
We have built 3 classroom blocks of 3 rooms and we can fit in reception, grades 1-3.
1 small room for the dental surgery which has the dental equipment going into, donated by the ‘dental directory’ company.
One world Oxted charity have very generously agreed to fund the toilet construction at Mpigi and so then we can open the school soon after.
We have a governship discussions with our team and will have in place prior to Mpigi school opening.
