Le Monde School in Mpigi

We’re thrilled to welcome you to LeMonde School in Mpigi, Uganda, a place built on hope, curiosity and community. Opened in January 2026 with 90 children across three year groups, the school marks an exciting new chapter for local families, giving children a place to learn, grow and dream bigger every day.

Together with our local partners and supporters, we’re proud to expand access to education in an area with around 800 primary-aged children. A special thank you to One World Oxted for their generous support of this project.

Introduced to the community by the Young Women’s Christian Association, this project has been several years in the making, including navigating a complex land purchase. The two-acre site is owned by PreMonde, our sister organisation in Uganda.

The school now has a completed classroom block, a toilet block, and a school office and staffroom. Our next priorities are to finish the second classroom block, currently at roof level, add another toilet block and install perimeter fencing. With the school located around 2.5 hours west of Kampala, along an unmade road, daily travel is difficult for teachers. The site also offers space for future teacher accommodation.
