Water Pump Installed in Kisaliza Village, Kafumu Parish, Mawokota Mpigi

Thanks to the generosity of One World Group in Oxted, Surrey, Project Le Monde has been able to install a safe drinking well in the town of Mpigi, South West of the capital, Kampala.

A lack of safe drinking water and sanitation contributes to many preventable stomach-related illnesses. With clean, fresh water now readily available from a local tap, families are less exposed to contaminated water, helping reduce the risk of illnesses such as diarrhoea, cholera and typhoid.

The generator-powered pumping system provides a practical solution to water scarcity in the community. Previously, residents had to travel many miles from their homes to collect water from a well. Women and young children no longer have to spend hours making this journey. It has brought much-needed relief to residents, who are very grateful for the difference it has made to their lives.

However, keeping the pump running can be costly, particularly when water demand rises during the growing season and fuel prices increase. Donations like yours, help cover these ongoing costs, ensuring families can continue to access clean, safe water close to home
